Approved Workshops Scheme
Why is it important that you use an AWS? ( Approved Workshop)

The Approved Workshop Scheme is a joint enterprise between the NCC (National Caravan Council), The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club. Originating on the 1st January 1978, and the only scheme to be supported by all of the major UK manufacturers , AWS is now the UK’s largest group of independently assessed workshops and is seen as the benchmark for motorhome and touring caravan servicing in the UK.

You will always receive Approved Workshop headed paper
-
Comprehensive checklist and an individual AWS number in the bottom right hand corner.
-
A damp report

SO WHY WOULD YOU USE AN APPROVED WORKSHOP?

-
Because you know as the customer that the engineer has had the correct training and knows exactly how your Caravan or Motorhome works in terms of Electrics, Gas, Damp, Chassis and towing gear
-
The paperwork you get is from a reputable company, don’t forget the Approved workshop scheme has been running since January 1978, so it knows a thing or two about your vehicle
-
Constant updates are given to Approved workshops about the latest legislation, so they are at the forefront of change

SO WHO ARE THE APPROVED WORKSHOP?

-
It is a joint enterprise between the Approved workshop and the National Caravan Council. This also has the backing of Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravan Club, two huge organisations
-
One fact that many people do not realise is that when you have a caravan less than three years old, the dealers will often tell you that it has to go back to them for the yearly Damp and Habitation check to protect your warranty. This is an absolute myth if like KamperBitz we are an Approved Workshop and are able to carry out warranty services on ALL new Caravans and Motorhomes, and if you have it completed by KamperBitz it will be at a fraction of the cost but with precisely the same checks and are often told with better service.
